Cardinal House Publishing
Cardinal House Publishing is an product of the accomplished poet, Stellasue Lee. She is the master of deep-image craft. She leads her readers to places and events where they have important and often profound experiences, ones that generate meaning. Her style tends towards the narrative, alternately plain-spoken and lyrical.
Stellasue has an contagious effect on her students in the teaching of the written word. Her students love working with her and she pushes them to the next level in their journey. Cardinal House Publishing is a voice for Stellasues’ work and also many works accomplished by her students.
The poet Yusef Komunyakaa wrote about her work “[She] takes us to a sense of place, to loved ones by way of sharp turns and hair-pin curves. I believe and trust the voices captured in these poems that drive us toward the vortex of what matters.” Poet and teacher Diane Wakoski simply observed “She has written powerful poems of healing and forgiveness”.
Dr. Lee was an entrant for the 2000 Pulitzer Prize, and was again considered in 2010. In 2003, she received The Poet and the Poem Special Recognition for Excellence from the Library of Congress. She is the author of five books in print: firecracker RED, Crossing the Double Yellow Line, 13 Los Angeles Poets, After I Fall, and Over To You. Her newly released book, Our Father, takes us down the path of her youth with her dad. Her poetry has been published in numerous anthologies and literary journals including the Connecticut Review, the Cortland Review, Margie, the Paterson Literary Review, and Quercus Review.
