Music Industry – Nu-Blu, All The Way

Sam Moore joined Nu-Blu on their All The Way disc on Rural Rhythm Records.

Soul Man Sam Moore was featured on CBS Sunday Morning August 17, with a glimpse of this dynamic addition to his repertoire. For years, Sam Moore has been best known for lending his unmistakable lead vocals to the classic soul duo, Sam & Dave. But his latest musical move is a career first — bluegrass. Moore sits in on “Jesus & Jones,” a duet with Carolyn Routh, vocalist of the bluegrass group Nu-Blu. The single — a tribute to country legend George Jones — will also appear on the band’s All The Way project (full release Sept. 16). Also included is a special feature track with the ‘Queen of Bluegrass’ Rhonda Vincent.

This two-day photo shoot was especially exciting for our group at McClearen Design! We had an excellent session, plus the pleasure of producing the design on Nu-Blu’s All The Way cover. Kelli Dirks and I had tons of fun with Daniel, Carolyn, Austin and Levi. It was a joy to work with the whole group!

I worked with Sam some 30-plus years ago on another LP release with he and Dave called “Sweet & Funky Gold”. I surprised him with a copy at the studio session, with Nu-Blu. There was a ton of teasing, laughter and fun shared by all. Sam’s humor is contagious. Here is an insightful excerpt from Sam’s blog – a telling summary of the legend himself. We should all learn from this wisdom. –Brenda McClearen

Words of Inspiration

At 73, having lived the crazy life I’ve lived, I think I’ve learned some important things.

My wife Joyce stumbled on this post one day, by someone else named Sam Moore, while doing some research, and we thought the messages were inspiring and brilliant; so I would like to share these thoughts with everyone who visits my site:

(1) Never apologize for your enthusiasm, passion, or vision.
(2) Never apologize for being inspired by another human being.
(3) Seek out inspiration (don’t wait for it).
(4) Inspire others by sharing your talents and time.
(5) And no matter what: Don’t let the bozos grind you down, ever.

Web Design – author Rob Simbeck

Weave a New Web
Rob Simbeck’s new Responsive Website. Click here to visit!

Author, musician, speaker, journalist, poet, naturalist, marathon runner. Brilliant, creative, clever, kind, empathetic. A man of authenticity and a stalwart of integrity—and one of the fastest typists I have ever seen! Especially considering he was composing content in his mighty brain as it flowed simultaneously through his fingers.

This is Rob Simbeck. I’m certainly not qualified to categorize Rob as a genius, but I’d make that bet. For one, being in the presence of Rob and his smarts does not squash a lesser brain (such as mine)! He is a people magnet that raises others to his level, a gentle genius.

Clearly, I love working with Rob. His business as a writer covers so many facets in the publishing arena it becomes a blatant name-dropping frenzy—Kellie Pickler, Joe Nichols, Blake Shelton, Jon Pardi, Frankie Ballard, Trace Adkins, Craig Morgan, Sheryl Crow, Shania Twain, Emmylou Harris, Loretta Lynn, Alan Jackson, Waylon Jennings, Kenny Rogers, Rascal Flatts, Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Jo Dee Messina, Blake Shelton, Wayne Newton, Bela Fleck, B.J. Thomas, Charley Pride, Carrie Underwood, Andrae Crouch, Darius Rucker, Patti Page, Ricky Van Shelton, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Brad Paisley and so many more (click here for more name dropping that’s done on Rob’s site!). He has worked with scores of the interesting and famous, both nationally and in our own Music City, where Rob calls home. Rob is also the Nashville Bureau Chief of Bob Kingsley’s Top 40 (http://www.ct40.com).

To keep in line with his top tier performance, we recently upgraded Rob’s website to be responsive – built to provide optimal viewing experience on all devices, desktop to mobile.

With mobile devices making up roughly 53% of all web traffic, the need for a responsive website is more of a necessity than a want. The ability to provide a seamless experience from your site to the user across the span of available devices ensures that you can bring them into your story or culture effortlessly! We are, as you read, rebuilding the McClearen Design website to bring that experience to our visitors!

mcclearen-design-rob-simbeck-Oh, good grief, I must quit going on and on about Rob… but I have to mention that we had a blast collaborating on this book for Cracker Barrel a few years ago. We were able to access so much rich content from the early greats of the music industry. Plus, the joy of working with photos by the legendary Les Leverett!

nashville-graphic-design-rob-simbeckWorking with Rob… Here’s another fun publication for which we created the cover and interior art. Arnie Deckwa has quite the story to tell here, with Rob Simbeck!
